Melissa Runyon, Ph.D., PLLC Training and Consulting Services is owned and operated by Melissa Runyon.
The mission of the organization is to educate child protection workers, juvenile justice workers, state policy makers, administrators, leadership and mental heath therapists in trauma-informed, evidence-based care to improve the lives and mental health outcomes for children exposed to trauma, abuse, and violence.
To fulfill this mission, Dr. Runyon provides consultation in the development of systems of trauma-informed care and to organizations who are developing programs to address the needs of children exposed to trauma, abuse and violence.
Dr. Runyon also provides training and consultation in the United States and abroad to mental heath therapists in two evidence-based therapies, Combined Parent-Child Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CPC-CBT) and Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) developed at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine Child Abuse Research, Education, and Services (CARES) Institute where she previously served as Treatment Services Director and Professor of Psychiatry.
In order to increase children and families access to care, training is also provided to child protection case workers, intake workers, and treating therapists in evidence-based engagement strategies to increase the likelihood that children and families involved in the child welfare system seek services, attend initial intake appointments and follow through with services.
